Swimming Technique — Learn to Swim Better
Good swimming technique is the difference between struggling and gliding. At Neptune Swim School, our qualified instructors help you master the fundamentals — for every stroke, every age, every level.
The 4 Core Swimming Techniques
Freestyle (Front Crawl)
The fastest and most efficient stroke. Focus on body rotation, high elbow catch, and bilateral breathing to build endurance and speed.
Backstroke
Great for posture and relaxation. The key is a steady kick, straight arm recovery, and keeping hips high at the surface.
Breaststroke
The most popular recreational stroke. Timing is everything — pull, breathe, kick, glide in one smooth sequence.
Butterfly
The most technically demanding stroke. Requires a strong dolphin kick, simultaneous arm pull, and coordinated breathing rhythm.
Why Swimming Technique Matters
Poor technique doesn’t just slow you down — it leads to fatigue, injury, and frustration. A trained eye can spot the small errors (dropped elbow, flat body position, wrong head angle) that hold most swimmers back.
At Neptune, every lesson is technique-focused. We use progressions, drills, and real-time feedback so improvements stick — whether you’re swimming for fitness, sport, or safety.
